In 2011 Walkro Compost managed to produce 415.000 tonnes of spawn run compost at 3 production locations in Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany. According to Walkro, they are now the first compost producer worldwide breaking the barrier of 400.000 tonnes in one year.
The recent acquisition of Sussex Mushrooms by Irish mushroom giant Monaghan Mushrooms has been approved by the Office of Fair Trading. Therefore the transition from Sussex Mushrooms to Thakeham Mushrooms is now official.
Coenegrachts Substrates, located in Riemst, Belgium, will expand its phase III capacity from 400 tonnes to 720 tonnes weekly. A phase I facility is also being built and will go into production in September 2012.
