Sielinko 2009

  • On May 22nd-23rd, 2009, the 15th Polish Mushroom Days were held in Sielinko, not far from Poznan. Krystian Szudyga, praeses of the branche organisation SBGU opened this event on Friday with the mayor of Wielichowo, Mr Adam Laniecki. On Saturday 50 mushroom supplying companies, mainly from Poland, presented themselves at the fairgrounds. At the conference, Dr Szudyga gave an overview of the market situation and Prof Kalbarczyk gave a lecture on bioactive compounds in mushrooms. There was room for discussion as well. On the 24rd of May, the traditional mushroom mass and mushroom festival were held in Wielichowo, with some 5000 people joining the festivities. Here is a small impression of the conference and fair, with special thanks to Szymon Spyra and Monika Pomiankowska.
