A visit to Verschoor Pilzsubstrat GmbH

From Thursday, October 26 to Saturday, October 28, the yearly Jahrestagung des Bundes Deutscher Champignon- und Kulturpilzanbauer (BDC) was held in Magdeburg, Germany.
Besides an interesting conference on Friday, attendants could visit the Fase I compost site of Verschoor Pilzsubstrat in nearby Wolmirsleben on Saturday. After a warm welcome, visitors got a guided tour around the complex. Food and drinks were served in a tent. That goulash soup was extraordinary! More on the BDC Jahrestagung in Mushroom Business nr. 20. Here are some pictures of the compost site.
