Chinese trading company Brilliant Century Agriculture Developing’s stand at Fruit Logistica is quite simple. Vice-president Zhang Qi is busy taking notes, but had a moment to explain that he exports fresh shii-take to Europe. The mushrooms grown by the company in Dalian are destined for UK supermarkets. They export 10 containers annually. Over the past five years his export volumes to England have increased. To be able to sell to European supermarket chains, the shii-take are cultivated according to Eurep-GAP standards.

Ireneusz Nawrot explained that his mushroom company will expand its range with organically grown fruit and vegetables this year. These  will mainly be grown in East Poland using organic methods.

 
Packaged dried wild mushrooms in the stand of family run company IGDA from Belgrade, Serbia. To complement the existing assortment of dried and frozen wild mushrooms the firm started trading in truffles this year.
